Accept our invitation and come and visit Quinta dos Loridos, home to the largest oriental garden in Europe, the impressive Bacalhôa Buddha Eden.
With about 35 hectares, the garden was created in protest against the destruction of the Giant Buddhas of Bamyan, in what was one of the greatest acts of cultural barbarism, erasing masterpieces from the late Gandhara Art period.
Among Buddhas, pagodas, terracotta statues and several sculptures carefully placed among the vegetation, it is estimated that more than 6 thousand tons of marble and granite were used to build this monumental work. The central staircase is the focal point of the garden, where the golden Buddha calmly welcomes visitors.
In the central lake it is possible to observe the KOI fish, and sculpted dragons that rise from the water. You will also have the opportunity to observe the approximately 600 hand-painted terracotta soldiers, each unique, with some buried, as it was 2,200 years ago.
The Modern and Contemporary Sculpture garden provides a tranquil space in nature to enjoy modern art. Selected pieces from the Berardo Collection, such as Joana Vasconcelos, Alexander Calder, Fernando Botero, Tony Cragg, Lynn Chadwick, Allen Jones and many others, are arranged in the garden surrounded by different plants. This open space gallery has works that are regularly replaced, providing the visitor with new and interesting experiences on each visit.
The African Sculptures art garden is dedicated to the Shona people of Zimbabwe, who have been sculpting stone by hand for over a thousand years, transforming it into works of art. The Shona people believe in ancestral spirits known as "Vadzimu". His sculptures demonstrate the union between these two worlds, the physical and the spiritual. These incredible stone sculptors maintain the belief that each stone has a living spirit, which influences what it will become. The artist's job is to "free the spirit from the stone". There are more than 200 sculptures arranged under the shade of 1000 palm trees.

Com cerca de 35 hectares, o jardim foi criado em protesto contra destruição dos Budas Gigantes de Bamyan, naquele que foi um dos maiores actos de barbárie cultural, apagando da memória obras-primas do período tardio da Arte de Gandhara.
Entre budas, pagodes, estátuas de terracota e várias esculturas cuidadosamente colocadas entre a vegetação, estima-se que foram usadas mais de 6 mil toneladas de mármore e granito para edificar esta obra monumental. A escadaria central é o ponto focal do jardim, onde os Buddha dourados dão calmamente as boas-vindas aos visitantes.
No lago central é possível observar os peixes KOI, e dragões esculpidos que se erguem da água. Terá ainda a oportunidade de observar os cerca de 600 soldados de terracota pintados à mão, cada um deles único, encontrando-se alguns enterrados, tal como há 2.200 anos.
O jardim de Escultura Moderna e Contemporânea proporciona um espaço tranquilo na natureza para apreciar arte moderna. Peças selecionadas da Coleção Berardo, como por exemplo de Joana Vasconcelos, Alexander Calder, Fernando Botero, Tony Cragg, Lynn Chadwick, Allen Jones e muitos outros, encontram-se dispostas no jardim rodeadas de plantas diversas. Esta galeria em espaço aberto possui obras que são regularmente substituídas, proporcionando ao visitante experiências novas e interessantes, em cada visita.
O jardim de arte de Esculturas Africanas é dedicado ao povo Shona do Zimbabué, que há mais de mil anos esculpe pedra à mão transformando-a em obras de arte. O povo Shona acredita em espíritos ancestrais conhecidos como "Vadzimu". As suas esculturas demonstram a união entre estes dois mundos, o físico e o espiritual. Estes incríveis escultores de pedra mantêm a crença de que cada pedra tem um espírito vivo, que influencia aquilo em que ela se virá a tornar. O trabalho do artista é "libertar o espírito da pedra". Existem mais de 200 esculturas dispostas sob a sombra de 1000 palmeiras.
